The Volkshaus furniture series was designed for the institution Volkshaus Basel in 2020, as part of their boutique hotel. Characterised by a clear, sculptural appearance, intersecting X-shapes reveal a complex frame construction – a product of research and exploration into the possibilities and limitations of CNC precision cutting for traditional wooden joints, like those used in Japanese carpentry and architecture.

Side Table, like the stools in our X-Series furniture, is the purest form of three interesting legs crossing at a single, central knot, completed by a tabletop and base plate. Available in natural or in black stained oak, a homage to the pure geometric expression of the furniture`s own structural form.
